Toronto, the capital of the Province of Ontario, is Canada’s largest city and commercial centre. Almost half of the people living in Toronto are immigrants. A vibrant and lively city with its multicultural structure, Toronto is also one of the safest cities in North America. The CISS at Trinity Summer School program is organized at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus. The school is within walking distance of the subway station, art galleries, museums and parks, cafes and shopping areas such as Yonge Street, Bay Street and Bloor Street.

Students aged 14-18 receive General English training for 25 hours per week; Students in the 16-18 age group and high-intermediate/advanced level can also choose the “Academic & Career Prep / University and Career Preparation” or “Entrepreneurship / Entrepreneurship” program in 3-week terms.

Most of the rooms are single occupancy in the campus, where male and female students are accommodated in different departments according to their ages. A small number of double rooms are also available. The bathroom is shared. In the program, which offers three meals a day, 6 days a week, breakfast and dinner are served on Sunday. The campus features Wi-Fi, air-conditioned recreation areas, a well-equipped sports center and a large restaurant. The health center and the hospital are 1 km away. Students interested in sports can participate in a different activity every day: swimming, volleyball, basketball, fitness, yoga, pilates. The program includes one full and three half-day sightseeing tour and one afternoon cultural excursion per week.

  • Full day excursions: Niagara Falls and Hornblower Niagara boat tour, Canada’s Wonderland amusement park, Canadian Experience, Wasaga Beach cruise.
  • Half-day excursions: Blue Jay’s baseball game, CN Tower, disco-boat cruise, Lake Ontario, Harbourfront and Central Island cruise.
  • Cultural visits: Art Gallery of Ontario, Casa Loma, Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Museum of Ceramics, Toronto Festivals.

These excursions are included in the tuition fee. Optional excursions are also available for an extra fee. Except on the days when there are organized trips, students can travel around the city in small groups.
