Welcome to NUI Galway’s International Summer School. Each year the University welcomes more than 300 hundred summer school students with an interest in Irish Studies, Education in Ireland, Irish Language, Ecology, Business and International Management, English Language, Play Therapy, Ecology, Archeology and Geology.
The summer school courses offered are taught by expert lecturers and education professionals who will bring you a rich and diverse perspective on the subject area and have a broad knowledge of their subjects.
Educational field trips are an integral part of summer school courses and will provide you with the opportunity to gain full hands-on knowledge of your expertise. During your stay you will have time to explore Galway City and many other parts of Ireland that are easily accessible from the area.
Located on Ireland’s west coast along the Wild Atlantic Way, Galway City is considered Ireland’s cultural capital. Galway has been named a UNESCO City of Film and recently named European Capital of Culture 2020.
With its narrow medieval streets, historic buildings, buskers, colorful storefronts and vibrant nightlife, Galway has a bohemian flair. The city explodes with energy in July, when the festival scene reaches its peak. The Galway Film Fleadh, Galway International Arts Festival and Galway Fringe Festival invite visitors from around the world to experience the best in music, film, theatre, literature and visual art. Galway Races, a week-long horse racing festival at the end of July, is Ireland’s best-known racing festival.
